Reasoning method that explores multiple branching thought paths and backtracks.
Definition
Tree of Thought generalises chain-of-thought by exploring a tree of partial solutions and pruning weak branches. It usually wraps a deliberate search algorithm around the LLM, trading more compute for higher accuracy on hard reasoning problems.
