clinical-assertion-negation-bert classifies the assertion status of a flagged condition in a clinical sentence into PRESENT, ABSENT or POSSIBLE. You wrap the condition in [entity] and [/entity] markers, and the model judges whether the note asserts, negates or hedges it. This is the negation and uncertainty step that disease NER alone misses, for example separating diagnosed from ruled-out findings. It is fine-tuned from Bio_ClinicalBERT on the i2b2 2010 assertion task.
